The GR Company and National University of Mongolia Partner to Develop Future Government Relations Professionals

NUM MOU

The GR Company and the School of Political Science, International Relations and Public Administration (SPSIRPA) at the National University of Mongolia (NUM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide students with international internship opportunities and explore further academic and research collaboration.

Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on the SPSIRPA Internship Program, providing SPSIRPA students with opportunities to undertake internships at The GR Company’s offices across Asia, including Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, and, subject to availability, Singapore, beginning in 2027.

The program will give students hands-on experience in government relations, public affairs, and policy advisory work, while exposing them to different political and regulatory systems across the region. Students will have the opportunity to observe how governments, businesses, and other stakeholders engage on policy issues and how regulatory developments can shape the operating environment for organizations.

“We are pleased to partner with the National University of Mongolia’s SPSIRPA,” said Jakob Edberg, President & CEO of The GR Company. “This partnership will give students the opportunity to gain practical experience in different markets and develop a better understanding of how government relations and public policy work across Asia. We look forward to working with NUM and supporting the development of future professionals in this field.”

Professor Munkhbat Sonomdarjaa, Dean, School of Political Science, International Relations and Public Administration, National University of Mongolia said, “We welcome this opportunity to connect our students with practical experience in an international professional environment. We look forward to giving students a broader understanding of policy and government relations across Asia, while developing further academic and research collaboration with The GR Company.”

The partnership builds on The GR Company’s existing collaboration with National Taiwan University and its broader work with universities and students across Asia. Through these partnerships, The GR Company hopes to contribute to the development of Mongolia’s next generation of policy professionals by providing students with practical international experience and opportunities to gain insights into diverse policy-making and regulatory environments.

For NUM, the collaboration provides students with opportunities to gain international exposure and practical experience alongside their academic studies, while creating opportunities for faculty and students to engage with a regional government relations and public affairs consultancy.

The two parties will also explore opportunities for joint research and other academic collaboration.
