Generative AI is rapidly transforming the creation and distribution of content, while also raising growing concerns around copyright infringement, deepfakes, voice cloning, and the unauthorized use of creative works and personal likeness. In Japan, these debates have intensified as the government advances an innovation-oriented approach to AI governance distinct from the more prescriptive regulatory models emerging elsewhere.
