South Korea’s 2026 National Assembly Audit is approaching, with in-app payment enforcement expected to remain a key issue.
Despite Korea’s 2021 ban on forced in-app payment methods, questions remain over enforcement delays, alternative billing costs, and app-review practices. For app-store operators and foreign game and content publishers, these issues could bring renewed scrutiny over billing choices, transaction costs, and platform practices.
