[A New Turning Point for Korea’s Renewable Energy Market]
Korea’s renewable energy market is set for a major transition. With the reform of the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), the existing market based on RPS and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) is expected to shift toward a government-led, long-term fixed-price contract market. Offshore wind is also moving toward a planned-site framework, under which the government designates project sites and selects developers, following the implementation of the Special Wind Power Act.
