Yutaka is Director, Attorney at Law, at GR Japan. Before joining the firm, he worked as Policy Secretary to members of the House of Representatives. He has had direct policy-making experience in a variety of policy areas, including social security, Japan’s response to the Fukushima Daiichi accident, renewable energy and environmental policy, and the promotion and energy market reform.

His experience includes liaison between the Diet and ministries (particularly the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Environment) as part of the process of introducing new legislation. Yutaka also has considerable experience of creating draft legislation, policies, and parliamentary questions, and is an expert on private-member bills.

He speaks fluent English and holds a Juris Doctor cum laude from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo. Attorney at Law (Admitted in Japan)
