[Korea - August 2026: The EQT-Douzone Deal and Korea’s Mandatory Tender Offer Debate]

The transaction has become a key test case in Korea's renewed debate over mandatory tender offer rules and minority shareholder protection.

The National Assembly is considering related amendments to the Capital Markets Act, with lawmakers weighing the more practical “50%+1 share rule” for future M&A transactions against the “full buyout rule” for stronger protection of minority shareholders.
